Something Romantic About Them:
While the first query on the Anderson & Roe Piano Duo’s Frequently Asked Questions “personal” list is “Are you two married … or is your relationship strictly professional?”
The answer is still no … and no. The duo shares an intimate musical relationship and longtime friendship. This video of Blue Danube Fantasy dramatizes the backstory of their meeting, during their very first week as piano students at Juilliard in 2000. Their friendship has brought them around the world and joyfully close, as Roe officiated at Anderson’s wedding to Craig Berdahl in 2010.

Small World Department:
Anderson & Roe met Ted Sperling while practicing backstage at Davies Symphony Hall with San Francisco Symphony in December 2016. Mr. Sperling was preparing for Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies with the San Francisco Symphony, Anderson and Roe were prepping for their Concerto performance the next day.
