Mahler’s Symphony
No. 3

November 8, 2017 at 8:00PM | Carnegie Hall

MasterVoices | Israel Philharmonic Orchestra | Manhattan Girls Chorus | Zubin Mehta, Conductor

Presented by Carnegie Hall

Mahler famously told Sibelius that “the symphony must be like the world—it must embrace everything.” If any comes close, it is Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, with music that moves from an ominous invocation of Nature awakening, through a raucous march of Pan, a song of angels, and on to a final overwhelming and glorious triumph of universal love.

MasterVoices first performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and Maestro Zubin Mehta in Israel in 2008.  The chorus and orchestra toured together again in 2012 in Israel and at the Salzburg Festival and appeared at Carnegie Hall together in 2012 and 2015.

Tickets are available through Carnegie Hall beginning Monday, August 28, 2017 at 8am.
